Published assistance levels
PM Surya Ghar is a Government of India scheme, not a separate ₹78,000 Kerala state grant. Official government material describes assistance of ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and a maximum of ₹78,000 for 3 kW or higher for eligible individual residential systems.
| Residential capacity | Published assistance example |
|---|---|
| 1 kW | ₹30,000 |
| 2 kW | ₹60,000 |
| 3 kW or higher | Up to ₹78,000 |
The calculator models ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for the next 1 kW, capped at ₹78,000. Assistance is conditional; do not treat a calculator selection as an approval.
Check the current application process
- Visit the official PM Surya Ghar portal and review the current eligibility and equipment requirements.
- Register the residential application and follow the applicable electricity-distribution company process.
- Confirm the approved/registered vendor requirements and quotation scope.
- Follow the installation, inspection, commissioning and claim steps shown in the portal.
- Keep the investment before subsidy visible in your budget; claim timing and approval can affect cash needs.
Do not assume that a commercial, industrial, institutional or hybrid configuration qualifies under the individual residential model used here. Ask about the applicable rules for the exact project.
